The Classification of Environmental Purposes (CEP) is a generic, functional classification of economic activities, environmental products, environmental expenditures and other transactions related to environmental protection and management of natural resources. The classification units are activities, products, and expenditures. The CEP is based on the pre-existing functional classifications:
classification of environmental protection activities and expenditure (CEPA 2000)
classification of resource management activities and expenditure (CReMA 2008)
It is created and maintained by Eurostat and disseminated by the Publications Office of the European Union on the EU Vocabularies website.
