The ‘Nomenclature of countries and territories for the external trade statistics of the Union and statistics of trade between Member States’, known as the ‘Geonomenclature’ and abbreviated to GEONOM, is used by the EU Member States to collect detailed statistics on their exchanges of goods with other Member States (intra-EU trade) or with non-EU countries (extra-EU trade). The Geonomenclature is also used by Eurostat to disseminate data through Comext, Eurostat's reference database for international trade in goods.
GEONOM is maintained by Eurostat and published by the Publications Office of the European Union on the EU Vocabularies website.
