ERA vocabulary

The European Union Agency for Railways (ERA) has created a collection of concept schemes represented in SKOS, together with RDF graphs validation set of conditions (a.k.a SHACL constraints) used with the ontology.

This is the set of SKOS concept schemes that are referenced from the ERA Vocabulary/Ontology, governed by the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA). They represent concepts and enumerations that are used in the RINF application guide and in the ERATV application guides, as well as those that are obtained from the ERATV database and manually curated by ERA.

The following collection is a combined view of the Controlled Vocabulary / Taxonomy governed by the European Union Agency for Railways. Each concept scheme represents the list of values per each data property linked to the sectorial legal framework and to the use cases under the Agency´s remit.

SHACL Validation Rules

This is the set of rules and constrained regarding the Register of Infrastructure (RINF), stating the values of the network parameters of each subsystem or part subsystem concerned in relation with the ERA Ontology. GSM-R Concept Schemes

This is the set of schemes grouping Concepts GSM-R equipment versions, GSM-R networks, GSM-R radio data communications, GSM-R versions, and GSM-R functions.

Vehicle Concept Schemes

This is the set of schemes grouping Concepts related to types of vehicles, breaking conditions, contact lines and energy supply systems.

European Train Control System (ETCS) Concept Schemes

This is the set of schemes grouping Concepts related to ETCS subsystem, such as ETCS baselines, ETCS equipment levels, ETCS levels and ETCS system compatibilities.

Gauging Concept Schemes

This is the set of schemes grouping Concepts related to gauging profiles, nomimal track gauges and gauge change over facilities.

Radio Communication Concept Schemes

This is the set of schemes grouping Concepts related to radio systems, radio system compatibilities both for data and voice.

Profiles Concept Schemes

This is the set of schemes grouping Concepts related to platform heights, profile numbers for semi-trailers and for swap bodies.

Operations Concept Schemes

This is the set of schemes grouping Concepts related to company code categories operating in the ERATV database, the freight corridors, the line categories and the types of operational points (OPs).

Limitations/Restrictions Concept Schemes

This is the set of schemes grouping Concepts related to train system limitation numbers, harmonized restrictions, rail inclinations and ice conditions.
